Animal Hospital will have you running around a small but deceptively dangerous hospital, so knowing where each room is and what they're for will give you a massive advantage.
In this guide, we'll teach you about every location in the titular hospital and a few quick tips on what each room is for.
Before we get things started, here's a quick visualization of the hospital's layout. This isn't an official map as there isn't one, but it's an accurate representation of the rooms:

Waiting Area/Lobby
The Waiting Area/Lobby is where the hospital's entrance is located, and it's where patients will spawn in throughout your shifts.
Anomalies can appear in this zone, and there will almost always be somebody sitting in one of the chairs here. Dr. Harlow will also enter through here whenever he comes around.

Office
This is practically your base of operations. It's where you'll admit new patients or deny them if they're anomalies. You can also come here to rest for a bit if you need a breather.

Here's a quick rundown of what you'll find here:
- The Counter - Patients will wait here until you check them in (or keep them out)
- Camera - Lets you take a picture of the patient so you can check if they're normal
- Computer - Used for registering patients
- Printer - Prints the IDs that you give to each patient
- Shutter Button - Lets you close the shutters to deny anomalies
- Camera Station - Allows you to check all the cameras in the hospital
- Coffee Machine - Used to make coffee that restores Sanity
- Taser - Used to incapacitate anomalies

Store
The Store opens every shift once it's active at Shift 3, and you'll be able to buy helpful tools and upgrades using your hard-earned cash. The fire extinguisher and vending machine will also be found by the entrance.
You have around 3 minutes to buy items from the store during each shift. After this period, the shop counter will close!
Here's a list of tools you can buy here:
Item Name | Price | Use |
|---|---|---|
Coffee | $50 | Recovers some of your Sanity |
Run Fast Cola | $75 | Gives you a quick speed boost |
Mint Tea | $100 | Slowly regenerates some of your Sanity |
Chocolate Bar | $135 | Recovers a decent amount of Sanity |
Taser (1 Use) | $150 | Lets you incapacitate anomalies |
Scanner (1 Use) | $150 | Lets you check if an animal is an anomaly |
Taser (3 Uses) | $250 | Lets you incapacitate anomalies (3 charges) |
Gun | $400 | Lets you kill anything (anomalies, patients, and even players) |
Deployable Camera | $600 | Allows you to manually set up an extra camera |
Teddy Bear | $1,000 | Revive another player in your team |
The shop will also offer various upgrades that can increase patients' speed, make your equipment (printers, computers, etc.) work faster, and even increase your carrying capacity.

Medical Wing (Rooms 1-5)
The Medical Wing is where Rooms 1-5 are located, and this is where you'll be treating patients with pretty minor ailments. You'll find various shelves with all the tools you'll need along the hallway.

Each room is equipped with all the tools you'll need to diagnose the patient, and you can simply walk out and run back in with the remedies. Anomalies can appear all around every room, including the ceiling.
It's also worth noting that the posters in this room will start looking distorted and scary as you reach lower Sanity levels.

Emergency Wing (Rooms 6-8)
The Emergency Wing is where more serious cases are treated. It has the same minor remedies in the hallway, but each room here is equipped with special tools for diagnosing patients.
Room 6 - X-Ray
In the X-Ray room, you'll be tasked with copying the sequence of lights displayed on the console. It's basically a Simon Says minigame.
After completing the minigame, you must interact with the computer on the side to print the results and determine what treatment is needed.

Room 7 - Cardio
The Cardio room is where you'll conduct heart scans on patients. It's almost the same as a regular room, but with a clicking minigame.

The "Heartbeat" minigame that you play in this room will have you clicking on circles that appear on your screen, all while avoiding the ones with a skull icon.
The patient can die here if you click too many skulls!

Room 8 - Surgery
The Surgery room is where you'll conduct a more complex treatment whenever patients need it. It's a particularly large room but the only important things here are the operating table and the surrounding counters.

The minigame here will have you using varying items on the patient. These are randomized, so pay close attention to the large screen and the order of items all around the room.
The order of items on the counters here will be randomized each run!

Other Areas
Finally, there are varying other rooms around the hospital that aren't tied to the main gameplay loop (yet).
Dr. Harlow's Office
After several shifts, you'll have the opportunity to enter Dr. Harlow's office when he asks you to help carry some boxes for him. This will open up the restricted area behind the Store, which is where his office is located.
There isn't much to do in this room yet, but it will reveal some bits of lore for those interested in the game's hidden story.

The Other Offices
Aside from Harlow's office, there are other rooms in the restricted area. These are offices of the other named hospital staff.
