AA
AA is an acronym for "Admin Abuse", which is when an administrator misuses their administrative powers.

13+
13+ means that something is only accessible or recommended to players who are aged 13 or over.

1337 is another way to type the word "LEET", as 1 looks like L, 3 looks like E and 7 looks like T. When used in Roblox, 1337 usually means elite, which is the word that leet comes from. 1337 can also refer to leetspeak, which is when people replace letters with numbers that look alike.

ABC isn't an acronym, and doesn't mean anything specific. It is a word that people use to respond to a request from another Roblox player. For example, one player might say "ABC for free gear!", and players who want the free gear would send "ABC" as a chat message to signal that they are interested.

AFK is an acronym for the phrase "away from keyboard". Away from keyboard means, quite literally, that a player is going to be away from their computer and not available for a period of time. This phrase is used when a player will be away for both short and long durations: a player might say "AFK" when they are going to get a drink, or alternatively when they are leaving their computer to visit the shops. Usually, however, it will be used when a player is away for less than 20 minutes as Roblox will disconnect players who aren't active for 20 minutes.

Alias
In Roblox, alias refers to aliases set through the alias feature. The alias feature allows players to set an alias - meaning a nickname - for their friends. Aliases are only visible to those who create them, so if you set an alias for your friend, only you can see that alias. Because of this, it is common for players to ask what aliases their friends have set for them.

In Roblox, alt is a shortened form of the word "alternate account". An alternate account is another Roblox account that a player uses that isn't a their main account. For example, if a player had two Roblox accounts, the second would be their "alt" account.

Annually
In Roblox, annually means the same as it does in the real word: that something happens once a year. If a subscription to Roblox Premium is charged "annually", that means you pay once a year.

In Roblox, beta refers to a version of a game, or other object like an asset, that is available to play or use as a trial because it isn't yet fully finished or tested. Games and assets in a "beta" phase are usually free from major bugs but may have small issues that still need to be worked out. A game developer may run a "beta test" of a new game or update to polish features and find bugs.

BRB
BRB is short for "be right back", which means quite literally that a player will be unavailable for a short period of time (e.g. 30 seconds) but they will "be right back". For example, if a player is leaving their computer to get a drink, they might use this phrase to let you know that they will be gone.

Chile
In Roblox, chile can mean one of two things. It can mean chill: as in, chilled out and relaxed. Or it can mean child: as in a young person.

In Roblox, e.e or e_e is a smilie (i.e. it's meant to look like a face) that signifies boredom or exhaustion.

In Roblox, FE is an acronym for "Filtering Enabled". When filtering is enabled for a game, it means that changes made on the client aren't replicated on the server. This prevents cheaters from inserting objects into the world because the changes they make to their client aren't passed onto the server (which would then be passed onto everyone connected).

In Roblox, GG is short for the phrase "good game", which is the gaming equivalent of the phrase "good job" or "nice". It is often used at the end of games to congratulate the other team. It may also be used ironically when something unfortunate happens.

In Roblox, HR is an acronym for the phrase "High Rank", which refers to players who have high ranks on a server (i.e. they have more power and access to more features) or group.

Lel
In Roblox, lel is a more playful and sarcastic way to say "lol", which means "laughing out loud". This means lel is often used to when something is funny or amusing.

In Roblox, Limited (U) (meaning Limited Unique) items are items that only have a limited quantity available before they are discontinued. For example, a Limited (U) hat may only be sold 5,000 times before it is taken off the store forever. This is different to Limited items which have an infinite quantity but are discontinued after a certain date.

LMaD
In Roblox, LMaD is an acronym for "Let's Make a Deal". This acronym is used when two or more players want to make an agreement - for example, to trade a certain item. It was also the name of Roblox's sub-forum for trading catalog items which was closed in December 2017.

In Roblox, obby means obstacle course. It is the name given to games or parts of games where there are obstacles to get around. It is used interchangeably with parkour, as often these obstacles require jumping and maneuvering to get around.

In Roblox, OBC is an acronym for Outrageous Builders Club, which was an old form of Roblox membership which was the highest possible tier.

In Roblox, obj may appear in messages where a player has used a character - for example, an emoji - that your computer doesn't support.

Oof
The phrase "oof" is derived from the Roblox "oof" sound effect that is played when a character dies. It is used to express surprise, disappointment and joking sympathy.

SOS
In Roblox, SOS can mean one of two things. Usually, it will mean save our souls. Save our souls is a distress signal which means things have "gone bad" (e.g. when your ship is sinking). It is usually used in sea or war games. It is also used as an acronym for "someone over shoulder", meaning that there is another person looking at the screen. Usually this it to prevent you from saying something that you wouldn't want someone else to see!

In Roblox, STS is an acronym that means "shoulder to shoulder". It is used to tell players to line up with their shoulders against each other.

Tags
In Roblox, the profanity filter will replace words it thinks are rude or potentially dangerous to share with hashtags (e.g. "my name is #####"). The phrase tags is used to notify a player that all or part of a message sent was replaced with tags due to the profanity filter so that the player can repeat what they said in a way that doesn't trigger the filter.
