Bee Swarm Simulator: How to Get Nectar & Different Types

Boosted productivity? Don't mind if I do!

More Bee Swarm Simulator Guides

In Bee Swarm Simulator, nectar is a type of buff that you can get by harvesting from planters. They can offer massive benefits for your hive, and if you pick the right type of nectar for your current setup, you can boost your productivity by a lot.

In this guide, we'll be going over how you can get each type of nectar and what benefits they will give you.

How to Get Nectar

Before you can get nectar, you will first need some planters, as they are the main source for these buffs. Basically, nectar is acquired by either harvesting planters or having bees sip from them (the Shy Bee is one of the best bees in BSS for this purpose).

Where to Use Planters

In order to start collecting nectar, you'll have to place your planters in various fields based on what you're trying to farm. Once they're ready to harvest, you will receive varying buffs, as well as the field's associated nectar.

For example, if you want to get a lot of Comforting Nectar, you'll want to use something like a Blue Clay Planter or Tacky Planter on a Bamboo or Pine Tree Forest field. Here's a very quick explanation as to why:

  • The planters mentioned have a larger multiplier for Comforting Nectar compared to others.
  • The Bamboo and Pine Tree Forest fields can grant Comforting Nectar.
  • Other planters will work, but you want to maximize your multiplier to get as much nectar as possible.

Field Degradation

It's important to note that harvesting planters will "degrade" a field, making your next planter on the same location grow slower than normal.

With each planter you harvest, the field will get more degraded, slowing down new planters even more. This naturally heals over time, as long as you leave it without planters for a while.

You can tell that a field is degraded by the color of the soil in the planter. If it is brown, that means that it is currently degraded, and this color will get darker as the field's condition worsens.

PRO TIP: Rotate between different fields to let your previous one heal in the meantime. For example, if you need more Motivating Nectar but have just harvested a planter on the Pumpkin Patch, place your next one in the Pineapple Patch for max efficiency.

All Nectar Types & What Fields Give Them

Each type of field gives a specific type of nectar, so if you're trying to get the best buffs for your setup, you'll need to know which ones to focus on.

Here's a handy list of all nectar types, including which fields can give them:

The buffs that you receive from any nectar will scale based on how much time is left on the buff. Basically, the longer the duration, the stronger the buff.

Storing Nectar for Later

Nectar Pot

If you want to store your nectar for later, you can do so at the Nectar Pot in the 30 Bee Zone. This will cost you 5 tickets per deposit.

You can only store one type of nectar at a time!

Nectar Condenser

In the 35 Bee Zone, you'll also find the Nectar Condenser, which will allow you to store 12 hours of any nectar and turn it into a vial with 4 hours worth of the buffs that you can activate at any time.

You can only carry up to 10 vials of each nectar type! If you try to condense over the limit, you'll get an error message stating that you already have the maximum number of vials.
