Cyborg is considered to be one of the strongest races in Blox Fruits, but also one of the hardest to unlock and fully awaken.
In this guide, we'll go over everything you need to know about the Cyborg race, from getting it all the way to upgrading it to its max potential.
How to Get the Cyborg Race (Step-by-Step)
In order to unlock the Cyborg race, you first need to complete the Cyborg Puzzle, which requires access to the Second Sea. Specifically, you need to be able to at least farm on Hot and Cold.
Step #1. Acquire a Fist of Darkness
In order to start the Cyborg Puzzle, you first need to get a Fist of Darkness. This can be acquired from Sea Beasts with a drop chance of 2.5%.
It is highly recommended to find a Sea Beast hunting group to speed up the process, as farming it yourself will take a lot of time. Once you do manage to find one, you'll see a notification saying: You have found a strange item.
From this point onwards, DO NOT LEAVE THE SERVER OR DIE. You will lose the Fist of Darkness if either of these happens.

Alternative Method: Chest Hunting
Another way to get a Fist of Darkness is by opening chests all throughout the Second Sea. There is a chance for a chest to spawn in with one every 4 hours.
It's a difficult method due to the RNG and server hopping involved, but if you'd rather not hunt Sea Beasts, it's a viable alternative.

Step #2. Bring the Fist of Darkness to Hot and Cold
Next, you have to travel to Hot and Cold, specifically the Hot part of the island where you can find the Secret Lab.

Upon entering the lab, you must step into the blue pod and press the green button while you have the Fist of Darkness in your hotbar. If you did it correctly, you'll see a message saying:
Your <Fist of Darkness> has been processed. Please supply a <Core Brain> to continue.

When you are finished with this step, you don't have to get another Fist of Darkness anymore. Your progress in this puzzle will save once you get that message.
Step #3. Finding a Core Brain
For this step, you have to farm Order raids, which requires Microchips bought at a thousand fragments each. These raids are also hosted on Hot and Cold.
Order has a measly 5% chance to drop a Core Brain. Because of this, you'll likely be farming this boss for a long time.
Again, having a large group will help you get through this grind faster. Having a strong grinding fruit, like an awakened Buddha, will also be a massive gamechanger.
Just like the Fist of Darkness, you cannot store the Core Brain. So don't die or log out until you finish the next step!

Step #4. Inserting the Core Brain
With a Core Brain on hand, return to the Secret Laboratory on Hot and Cold. Stand inside the blue tube once more, then click the green button.
This should show you the message: Your <Core Brain> has been processed. Please head downstairs. A nearby door will now be open, so proceed through it and make your way down the ladder inside.

Step #5. Buy Cyborg Race
Finally, once you've made your way downstairs, interact with the white machine up ahead. It will offer to change your race to Cyborg at a price of 2,500 fragments.

Upgrading the Cyborg Race
Cyborg has four versions, and getting it to max will become progressively harder with each upgrade. Let's go over each version one at a time.
How to Get Cyborg V2
Just like every other race in the game, you will have to complete the Alchemist's Quest in order to get Cyborg V2. He can be found on the Green Zone in the Second Sea.
He'll ask you to find three different flowers that are scattered throughout the Second Sea. You can't collect them without starting the quest first, so don't bother hunting for their spawns beforehand (trust us, we tried).
You also need to have already completed the Colosseum Quest and have $500,000 ready.

How to Get Cyborg V3
In order to get Cyborg V3, you must complete a quest from an NPC named arowe, who is found on the Kingdom of Rose.
Before seeking him out, make sure to have the following things ready:
- Cyborg V2
- $2,000,000
- Defeat Don Swan at least once
With all the prerequisites met, head to his hidden cave underneath Diamond's spawn point:

The quest arowe gives is unique for each race. For Cyborg, all you have to do is simply show him a Blox Fruit.
Quite literally just speak with him while holding a physical fruit in your hand, and he'll upgrade you to Cyborg V3. You don't lose your fruit by doing this, so don't worry about wasting one!

How to Get Cyborg V4
To get Cyborg V4, you'll have to go through a grueling set of tasks ending with a mandatory PVP battle. Here is a quick summary of the steps:
- Finish the Sealed King's quest
- Get a Mirror Fractal
- Talk to the Mysterious Force above the Great Tree to teleport to the Temple of Time
- Bring your Mirror Fractal to the highest point of Mirage Island at night. Upon using your race ability while staring at the moon, a Blue Gear will spawn on the island (find and pick it up).
- Interact with a lever at the Temple of Time to unlock Trials
- Gain access to the Ancient Clock (You must win against two or more players)
- Complete the Trial of the Machine
What Does Each Cyborg Version Do?
Every time you upgrade the Cyborg race, it gains new buffs and occasionally even aesthetic changes. Here is a quick overview of what every version of Cyborg does:
Cyborg Version | Brief Description | Faceplate/Visor |
|---|---|---|
V1 | Only an aesthetic change. |
|
V2 | 10% defense against all attacks except Fruits. 15% of the damage you take is turned into Energy. | No change |
V3 | Energy Core ability unlocked. When used, your defenses are buffed by 30% and you emit lightning around yourself, which has an Instinct Break mechanic. |
|
V4 | Energy Control unlocked. This lets you chain damage to nearby enemies, and you gain a super jump ability. Your attacks will also now have additional electric damage that wastes your target's Instinct charges. | No change |
