More Blox Fruits Guides

Your race is an important aspect of your character in Blox Fruits, as they provide various passive and sometimes active buffs in combat. Even the basic Human race that most people start with can be good after being upgraded.

In this guide, we will go over everything you need to know about races, including how to upgrade them from V1 to V4, what they do, which ones are the best, and more!

How to Change / Reroll Race

For the basic races, you can simply reroll to get them, and there's also a small chance that you spawn with one of them (aside from Human) when you first start a new character.

There is a F2P and non-F2P method to change your race in Blox Fruits, and before we go over the methods, here are the basic races for reference:

  • Human
  • Rabbit
  • Angel
  • Shark

The more advanced races (such as Cyborg) require varying puzzles and rare items to acquire. Let's go through the basic ones first.

F2P Method: Speak With Tort (Second & Third Sea)

Tort is an NPC who will offer to reroll your race into one of the other basic ones. It's worth noting that he won't reroll you to your current race, so you have a roughly 33% chance to get one of the other three.

In the Second Sea, he can be found in the Cafe, which is located in the Kingdom of Rose. He's in a corner, right under the bounty leaderboard:

In the Third Sea, he'll be hanging around in the Mansion. You'll find him near the entrance, standing beside the bounty leaderboard:

Each reroll will cost you 3,000 Fragments, and you can do this as many times as you desire.

P2W Method: Spend Robux

Although we discourage this method unless you're one of the richest players on Roblox, you can also reroll your race through the in-game shop.

First, click the Shop button in the menu on the left side of the screen:

Next, scroll down to the "Products" section. There, you'll find the Change Race game pass. This method will set you back 90 Robux per reroll, and this only gets you one of the four basic races.

How to Get Advanced Races

For the more advanced races, you'll need to do more than just reroll. Some have relatively long questlines or rare requirements.

To help you out, here is a quick summary of what you need to do to start working towards each advanced race:

Race

Requirements

Ghoul

You will need a Hellfire Torch and at least a hundred Ectoplasm

Cyborg

You must complete the Cyborg Puzzle, which requires you to find an extremely rare Fist of Darkness to start

Draco

To start the Draco Quest, you need to first reach 500 mastery with the Dragon Talon fighting style and complete the Dragon Hunter's quest chain.

Awakening Race V2, V3, & V4

How to Get Race V2

Unlocking Race V2 requires you to complete the Alchemist's Quest on the Green Zone island, which is found in the Second Sea.

This involves finding three different flowers, which can spawn in varying locations throughout the Second Sea. It's recommended to do this in a private server, so that you don't have to compete with other players.

How to Get Race V3

To get V3 in any race (except Draco), you will have to look for an NPC named arowe, who is on the Kingdom of Rose island of the Second Sea.

Head to the sunflower garden where Diamond spawns. There, you will find a secret entrance along the walls surrounding it. This is a fake wall that you can walk through:

Once inside, you will find arowe just up ahead, along with a doghouse that you don't need to interact with:

Race V3 Requirements

Awakening a race to V3 will require you to complete the quest that arowe gives you. This will be unique for each race, so refer to the table below to see what you'll have to do for your current race:

Race

V3 Awakening Quest

Human

Kill the bosses Diamond, Jeremy, and Orbitus

Rabbit

Open 30 chests

Shark

Kill a Sea Beast (must be one that spawns naturally)

Angel

Kill another player who also has the Angel race

Ghoul

Kill 5 players in a single life (must be close to your level)

Cyborg

Hold any fruit in your hand and talk to arowe again (you don't lose the fruit)

You will also need $2,000,000 and have at least one Don Swan kill under your belt.

Draco V3 Requirements

Draco V3 has unique requirements. Instead of doing arowe's quest, you'll need to finish the Horned Man's quest in the Third Sea.

If you've already completed that quest, you can talk to the Dragon Wizard for another task. This time, you'll have to kill a Terrorshark, or at least earn credit for one kill (deal 10% or more damage to it).

With those prerequisites met, you can unlock V3 by speaking to the Dragon Wizard and paying him $3,000,000.

How to Get Race V4

Race V4 for every race (except Draco) requires you to complete a grueling puzzle involving a lot of tasks and even a mandatory PVP fight that you have to win.

In a nutshell, you will need to do the following to unlock V4:

  • Finish the Sealed King's quest
  • Obtain a Mirror Fractal
  • Find the Mysterious Force at the Great Tree to enter the Temple of Time
  • Bring the Mirror Fractal to the tip of Mirage Island at night
  • Use your race ability while looking at the moon, and then look for the Blue Gear that spawns somewhere nearby
  • Find and interact with the lever at the Temple of Time to unlock Trials
  • Finish the trial related to your V3 race
  • Win a PVP fight against 2 other players with different races

Prerequisites for Draco V4

For Draco V4, you will have to complete a unique awakening quest that requires you to first craft and level up both the Dragonheart sword and Dragonstorm gun to mastery 500.

After that, there are varying trials unique to Draco that you'll have to finish in order to fully awaken the race. Access to these will require you to find a Prehistoric Island sea event.

The Best Race in Blox Fruits

The best race in Blox Fruits is highly dependent on what your playstyle is and what loadout you're working with. Instead of giving you one race, here are the best ones based on their specialties:

Race

Best For

Reason

Shark

Sea Events

From V2 onwards, Shark becomes completely immune to water damage, making it the best race for Sea Event farming.

Cyborg

Grinding

Powerful race for players who do a lot of both PVE. Solid defenses and some okay combat capabilities.

Ghoul

PVP

Decent stat buffs and on-demand cooldown reduction. Has some okay sustain and night buffs too.

Draco

Overall

Just a strong race overall for both PVE and PVP.

Overall Race Tier List

Here are the best (and worst) races in the game based on their overall usefulness, just to give you a better idea of how everything is generally rated:

  • S Tier
    • Draco Draco
    • Cyborg Cyborg
  • A Tier
    • Ghoul Ghoul
    • Shark Shark
  • B Tier
    • Angel Angel
    • Rabbit Rabbit
  • C Tier
    • Human Human

NOTE: These ratings are based on their overall usefulness, which means both low and high-level grinding, PVP, sea event farming, etc. These will definitely shift around if you only consider a single use case (e.g. Human, specifically V3 onwards, would be rated higher if this was about high-level gameplay only).
