How to Emote Dash in Evade (PC & Mobile)

Evade in style!

Emote dashing is a movement tech in Evade that lets you essentially slide around endlessly at a high speed, and you'll need to practice a lot in order to do it properly.

In this guide, we'll be teaching you how to perform an emote dash on both PC and Mobile platforms, as well as provide a few tips to help you pull it off more consistently.

Performing the Emote Dash

Before you can do an emote dash, you must have an emote that can move. An early example you can unlock is Stride, which will cost you a measly 400 tokens.

An emote dash is essentially a slide jump done immediately after starting an emote. It's highly recommended to practice this with the third person camera on.

Here are the steps you must follow in quick succession:

  1. Hold W until you reach max speed and open the Emote Wheel (default key: G).
  2. Press the emote you want to use.
  3. Immediately hold Ctrl and Spacebar to perform a slide jump.
  4. Hold A or D depending on which direction you're going.
  5. Keep pressing Spacebar the moment you hit the ground to keep the momentum going.

It's a VERY fast sequence, and it takes a bit of practice to get it right!

Here's an example of me doing it, complete with my keyboard inputs:

How to Emote Dash in Mobile

The concept is the same on mobile, though it will take much more practice to pull off. Here's the sequence:

  • Open the Emote Wheel.
  • Push joystick forward until max speed.
  • Press Jump and Slide (Crouch button) and immediately pick an emote.
  • Push your joystick to the direction you want to dash towards.
  • Keep jumping to maintain momentum.

IMPORTANT TIP: Practice turning the camera along with your movements for better consistency. This is difficult on mobile, but it'll help you avoid losing all speed at once.

General Tips

  • Keep moving your mouse to turn. While dashing, your camera is the only thing steering your character!
  • Practice in an open space to get used to turning.
  • To change directions, you let go of A or D (depending on what you started with) and hold the other button while in the air, then move your camera to that direction.
  • Practice going in one direction first and try to hit a speed of 45-50 consistently.
  • You DO NOT need any items to pull this off, but they do help with speed (especially Hermes Shoes).
  • When hitting a ramp, face away from the ramp or else you'll lose all your speed.
