In Fisch, the Ancient Archives is an area located in the Ancient Isle which features a crafting station. It also features 6 different types of fish, including the Diplurus, Phanerorhynchus, and the Lepidotes.
Step 1: Obtain All 4 Fragments
First, you'll need to obtain all 4 Fragments scattered around the island. We have a complete guide on how to get all the Fragments that will help with that.
Step 2: Wait for or Start an Eclipse Event
Next, you'll need to wait for an Eclipse Event to occur, which can rarely happen at the start of daytime cycles.
Alternatively, you can use an Eclipse Totem (which costs 200,000C$) to start one. You can buy this in the same cave where the Earth Fragment spawns.
Step 3: Head to the Cave at Ancient Isle
Once you've obtained all 4 Fragments and an Eclipse event is taking place, you'll then need to head to the cave at the Ancient Isle, found behind this waterfall on the side:
Once you're inside the cave, you'll need to walk up to this post:
Next, you'll need to press the E key to interact with the rope. Your character will then start climbing down, and you'll load into a new area.
Step 4: Place the Fragments
Next, you'll need to place each Fragment on the correct totem in the cave. Each totem has a distinct color that matches one of the fragments, so just match them one by one.
Here's a handy list to speed things up:

To place each Fragment, you'll need to equip it and then hold the E key on the corresponding totem.
Step 5: Rotate Each Totem
Finally, you have to rotate every totem until their corresponding colors light up in the vault door up ahead. Simply interact with each totem until their color starts glowing on the vault door.
Totem progress is server-based, which means that any Fragments you insert will stay in the server you're currently on. If you disconnect and join a different server, you'll have to find those Fragments again.
For example, if you spin the orange totem around, the vault door should eventually have an orange glow on its outer ring, like so:
Once you've done this with all the totems, the vault door should glow with all of their colors and eventually swing open on its own after a brief pause.
NOTE: Stop rotating the totem once you can see its color on the door, or else you'll have to spin it all the way around again.
Next, you'll simply need to walk through the vault door to access the Ancient Archives!
What if You Can't Rotate Totems?
If you can't rotate the totems for some reason, this can only mean one of the following:
- Your server is bugged
- There is currently no Eclipse event
- You didn't insert the correct fragment
To ensure that you experience no problems throughout the puzzle, make sure to double check that you're holding the correct fragment before inserting it into a totem. Also, move quickly so that the Eclipse doesn't end mid-puzzle.
If all else fails, relogging is an option as well, since the server itself may be broken. However, you'll have to collect the Fragments again if you've already inserted them.
