Fisch: How to Get Driftwood

In Fisch, Driftwood is an item which can be obtained through fishing. The most common type of Driftwood, known simply as Driftwood, doesn't have much value. Driftwood mutations however can be used for crafting a range of different rods, including the Precision Rod, Riptide Rod, and Wisdom Rod. There are currently 6 different types of Driftwood:

• Regular Driftwood
• Mythical Driftwood
• Lunar Driftwood
• Frozen Driftwood
• Atlantean Driftwood
• Festive Driftwood

How to Appraise Driftwood

All types of mutated driftwood (other than Festive Driftwood) can be obtained through appraising regular Driftwood, which is a process which costs 450C$ to perform. To appraise regular Driftwood, first head to Moosewood island, and look for this stall to the left of the Merchant:

Once you've found the appraisal stall, you'll need to equip your regular Driftwood and press the E key to talk to the Appraiser:

Next, select option 1: ["Can you appraise this fish? [450C$]"]

You will now have successfully appraised your Driftwood! As an appraisal doesn't guarantee a Driftwood mutation every time, you'll most likely have to appraise multiple pieces of regular Driftwood before obtaining a mutated one.

How to Get Regular Driftwood

Regular Driftwood can be caught anywhere and with any rod. It's also an easy catch due to its low rarity.

If you're looking to improve your chances of obtaining regular Driftwood, placing Crab Cages (which can be purchased for 45C$ from the Merchant at Moosewood) around shorelines is recommended.

How to Get Mythical Driftwood

Mythical Driftwood is a type of Driftwood used for crafting the Precision Rod and Wisdom Rod.

To obtain Mythical Driftwood, you'll either need to appraise regular Driftwood, or fish using the Mythical Rod (which improves your chances of catching a Mythical item by 30%).

How to Get Lunar Driftwood

Lunar Driftwood is a type of Driftwood used for crafting the Resourceful Rod.

To obtain Lunar Driftwood, you'll either need to appraise regular Driftwood, or fish using the Astral Rod or the Event Horizon Rod (with both improving your chances of catching a Lunar item by 5%).

How to Get Frozen Driftwood

Frozen Driftwood is a type of Driftwood used for crafting the Seasons Rod.

It can currently only be obtained through appraising regular Driftwood.

How to Get Atlantean Driftwood

Atlantean Driftwood is a type of Driftwood used for crafting the Riptide Rod.

To obtain Atlantean Driftwood, you'll either need to appraise regular Driftwood, or fish using the Trident Rod (which improves your chances of catching an Atlantean item by 30%).

How to Get Festive Driftwood

Festive Driftwood is a type of Driftwood used for crafting the Krampus's Rod.

To obtain Festive Driftwood, you'll need to fish using the Candy Cane Rod (which improves your chances of catching a Festive item by 10%).

Note: The Candy Cane Rod was only available during the Fischmas 2024 event, however it can still be used to obtain Festive Driftwood (even though the event has ended).
