The glider is an important tool that'll get a lot of mileage in your Fisch career. It's a great tool for mobility, especially once you start scaling high areas and maneuvering through platforms to reach rarer fishing spots. You'll also need it for certain quests later on, so getting one is essential.
You can get the most basic glider within your first hour of gameplay, specifically after unlocking the row boat. There are a handful of other variants that you can unlock later on, and those provide even better mobility.
How to Get the Glider
In order to unlock your first glider, sail to Roslit Bay, which is just a short trip away from the starting island. There, you will find plenty of NPCs near the dock. Ignore them and continue to the southeast from the Roslit Hamlet.
Eventually, you will run into a small campfire where an NPC named Ashe is found. On the log beside the one she's sitting on is the basic Glider, which will cost you 900 C$:
How to Use a Glider
To use a glider, you simply have to press the jump button again while in the air. Take note that you may have to add it to your hotbar at the bottom first, as it tends to not work while it's in your inventory.
You don't need to press its hotkey either, as you will automatically equip it upon pressing jump while in the air.
Where to Find Other Gliders
As you reach higher levels and explore new zones, you'll have opportunities to upgrade your glider for more speed and slower descent. To help you figure out when you're expected to upgrade, we'll also be going over all the other unlockable gliders excluding the limited event-only unlocks.
Advanced Glider
The advanced glider features better speed than the basic one, and getting it is as simple as reaching the area it's found in. It's at the Glacial Grotto part of the Northern Expedition island. Specifically, this is at the highest point of the island.
There, you'll find a small campsite before the crystal puzzle area. The advanced glider can be found between a couple of tents, and it will set you back 10,000 C$:
Elite Glider
The best glider tied to basic progression is the elite glider, and it's given to players for free once they reach level 1,100. Simply check your inventory once you hit the required level and equip your new, extremely fast glider:
Hang Glider
The hang glider is given to you as a part of the Mysterious Songstress' quest chain. You get to keep this even after completing the quest, as you'll need it to fly up in the skies. Simply progress through her quests until it's given to you, and you can use it whenever you please:
Wings of Harmony
The Wings of Harmony is a pair of wings that's technically considered a "glider". It can be acquired by players who have completed the Pinion's Aria mastery quest, which just so happens to be the same one given by the Mysterious Songstress.
Upon completion of the quest, you must catch 100 Harmonic Doves with the Harmonized mutation. After that, you will be rewarded with the wings, which typically perform better than even the elite glider.
