Money is essential when it comes to progressing in Fisch, as you'll need a lot of it in order to buy new rods, appraise fish, and much more. Farming cash can be a slow and arduous task if you aren't doing it efficiently, so knowing the best methods is key to faster progress.
To help you out, we'll briefly show you the most notable ways to make money and share some of the best fishing spots for those who want to grind it out the traditional way.
Making Money Fast in Fisch
There are various activities that reward you with cash, but only a couple of them are repeatable and even remotely good for actual moneymaking. Here are two of the main ways you can earn money quickly.
Method #1. Selling Fish
The first and most obvious way to earn a lot of money quickly is by simply fishing a lot and selling your catches to a Merchant NPC. These guys can be found on various islands, and they'll offer you a fair price for your catches based on the rarity of the fish, their mutation (if any), and size.
If you want to be quick, you'll want to sell your entire inventory rather than handing over fish one by one. Just make sure to lock any fish you want to keep before selling everything, as you may want to keep some for certain quests.

Method #2. Angler Quests
The Angler is an NPC that you'll find in various locations, such as Roslit Hamet or even absurd late game areas like the Crimson Cavern. They give you random quests based on the bestiary of the location they are in.
Angler quests will reward you with a massively boosted amount of cash based on the price of whatever fish you give them. Although it's an active moneymaking method, a large chunk of your cash will also come from the other fish you'll catch while doing it.

Late Game Angler Quests
As you complete more quests for the Anglers, the type of fish they can ask for will grow in rarity. After finishing around 50+ quests, they may start asking for an Exotic or even rarer fish, including stuff like Colossal Dragons.
This isn't as exploitable as it once was, but it's still a decent method even in later stages in your Fisch career.

Best Rods for Money
When it comes to farming money, there are certain rods that will make your life a whole lot easier due to their mutations and abilities. Here are some recommendations:
Early to Mid-Game Rods
Rod | Reason | Mutation/s |
|---|---|---|
Fungal Rod | Amazing early-game rod that provides a lot of luck and a decent mutation. | Fungal (4x) |
Bloomspire: Blooming Splendor | Great moneymaker for mid-game players due to its high mutation value and chance, as well as an insane weight capacity and boost. | Vitalic (8x) |
Volcanic Rod | Decent early-mid rod that has a lot of base luck and a good mutation. | Ashen Fortune (5x) |
Late Game Rods
Rod | Reason | Mutation/s |
|---|---|---|
Olympian Godbreaker | Great overall rod that also comes with amazing mutations | Gravitas (9.81x) |
MiguRod | High mutation chance, quick progress, and some amazing abilities that help with farming both fish and relics | Supersonic (8.01x) |
Noiseform | Very good stats and abilities, no capacity issues, and valuable mutations | Soultorn (8.5x) |

Best Fishing Spots for Money
Most zones are viable for moneymaking if you're not trying to min-max, but the following areas have some high value fish that can speed up your grind:
The Abyssal Zenith
We have an in-depth guide on how to catch a Scylla that will show you how to reach the Abyssal Zenith if you haven't already accessed it. It's a relatively high level zone that has some valuable fish.
The Crowned Anglerfish is worth at least 10k on average. The legendaries and mythical fish in this area are also typically a couple thousand each, and that's without mutations.

The Depths
The Depths is an amazing spot for making a lot of money due to its high value fish, especially after the Ancient Depth Serpent had its value per kilogram buffed by a lot (essentially double its original price).
On top of that, both the mythical and legendary fish have high base prices. With a good rod, you can easily make millions with very little time and effort compared to if you farmed in other zones. You'll be earning around 10-20 million an hour with high-value mutations.

Sunstone Island
Sunstone Island is a good moneymaking zone for low-level players, especially since it has some relatively high-value fish for how early you can start farming it efficiently.
Nothing much to say about this island. Simply fish in its waters and you'll find some relatively expensive fish, like the Sunfish, Voltfish, and various other valuable stuff.
