Grow a Chicken Fighter may seem like a simple chicken fighting game when you first start out, but it quickly ramps up in complexity with all the stats, abilities, and eggs you have to keep up with.
To help you decide which chickens are worth keeping and which aren't, we've compiled a tier list of all the best chickens in the game.
These ratings are based on more than just combat, as it also includes those that lay eggs. Lots of chickens are excluded due to redundancy or not being noteworthy enough both for fighting and for index completion.

S Tier - The Strongest Chickens
The chickens in the top tier are all extremely strong in both innate ability and base stats, and you can never go wrong with using them for combat.

Eclipse Hen | Its Black Sun Cataclysm is currently the strongest and top tier meta pick. Eclipse Hen also has some of the best base stats in the game. |
Kraken Chicken | Pretty good ability and insane stats, almost on par with Eclipse Hen. |
Storm Colossus | Stormcall is a really good AOE ability, and it has very good base stats as well. |
Catalyst Hen | Another powerful AOE ability coupled with equally strong base stats. |
A Tier - Good Alternatives
These chickens are some of the best when it comes to laying top tier eggs or having strong abilities, and they're often decent in combat too.

Doll Hen | It provides the powerful Voodoo ability, which isn't the best anymore, but still quite useful for Tower runs. |
Seraph Rooster | Pretty respectable combat stats and also a really good source for Colossus Eggs. |
Halo Hen | A respectable fighter that happens to be a good source of Colossus and Fortune Eggs. |
Plush Chick | This is ranked purely for its use in fusions. Plush Chick is ranked highly for its incredibly fast egg laying stat, which you'd then fuse into chickens that lay the best eggs. |
Founder Rooster | Great source of high tier eggs, such as Colossus, Royal, and Fortune. |
Sovereign Rooster | A decent source of Colossus and Fortune Eggs if you manage to get one early. |
Oracle Chick | Pretty good fighter that lays Colossus Eggs. |
Radiant Fenghuang | Powerful Cycle of Ash ability and has decent stats to boot. |
404 Chick | Still pretty good for fighting, but needs an ability like Cycle of Ash or maybe Voodoo. |
B Tier- Still Pretty Okay
These chickens range from having decent fighting stats to being some good but relatively specific egg farmers.

C Tier - Niche Egg Layers
The chickens in this tier aren't necessarily bad, but their only purpose is to help fill up the index by laying specific eggs.

The bottom-tier chickens are really only kept during the early stages of your account progression. You only need these for some starter eggs (e.g. Scratch Eggs).
