All Anomalies in Animal Hospital - Full List & Guide

Know the threats and survive your shifts!

More Animal Hospital Guides

Anomalies are a major threat to your life in Animal Hospital, and part of your job involves rejecting their entry, removing them from the premises, or simply avoiding getting killed by them.

Most of these creepy entities can be tough to spot or just hard to deal with in the heat of the moment. To help you get ready for your next shift in the Animal Hospital, we've compiled this list of all anomalies in the game, what they do, and how to beat them.

Full List of Anomalies

Before we begin, this list is split into two parts: Enemies and Patients. We'll explain the difference in each section, and we'll start with the enemies first as they pose a larger risk!

Enemy Anomalies

Enemies are hostile anomalies that exist solely to actively make your life hell and reduce your sanity directly. Here are all of the enemies and how to counter each:

How to Find

Behavior

Tips

Head Banger

The Head Banger in Animal Hospital

Always at the reception office window

Bangs its head repeatedly and blocks shutters

Giving it coffee (even with 1 use left) will safely remove it

Mass of Eyes

The Mass of Eyes in Animal Hospital

Spawns in random rooms with patients

Reduces your sanity if you look at it

Just don't look at it

Stalker

The Stalker in Animal Hospital

Randomly spawns all around the hospital

It'll wait around corners and stare at you, reducing your sanity if you look back

It despawns if you walk around it without looking at it directly

Ghost

A Ghost in Animal Hospital

They can spawn if a patient dies

Roams the hospital and occasionally follows you to reduce your sanity

You can't get rid of it permanently, so the best way to beat it is by avoiding deaths to begin with

Hiders

A Hider in Animal Hospital

Look out for smiling faces camouflaged in walls

They wait for players to approach and can steal treatment items or reduce sanity

The fire extinguisher can be used to get rid of them

Mimic

A Mimic in Animal Hospital

Can spawn if you let an anomalous patient in (covered in next section)

Has a chance to reveal itself and chase you

The taser is the safest way to neutralize it

Ritual

A Ritual in Animal Hospital

Can occur randomly if you let an anomalous patient in

The patient will start floating and channeling a deadly ritual

You have to extinguish the candles in the room (eye drops can be used to prevent sanity loss)

Camera Monster

The Camera Monster in Animal Hospital

Randomly appears in security cameras

Forces zoom in while viewing camera before jumpscaring you

Exit the camera menu before it gets too close

Slimebert

Slimebert in Animal Hospital

Checks in during a "Slime Shift", which is when the hospital becomes full of slime

It will roam the hospital and eat anything in its way before spitting them back out

You can stun him with the fire extinguisher, but he'll otherwise go away on his own after the shift

Bed Monster

The Bed Monster in Animal Hospital

Can spawn under a patient's bed

Will grab anything that walks in its radius, including other anomalies

You can give it maple syrup to safely remove it

Tentacles

The Tentacle monster in Animal Hospital

Randomly spawns after successful surgery

Starts an emergency surgery and reduces your sanity if you touch it

The only way to safely remove it is another successful surgery

Patient Anomalies

Patient anomalies are essentially Mimics that you must drive away by using the shutters at the office. If you check them in, they have a chance (not guaranteed) to become an enemy Mimic.

Otherwise, they're completely harmless if they don't "activate", though letting them in will reduce your performance rating for the shift. Here are telltale signs that a patient is actually an anomaly:

Although these types of patients are not guaranteed to spawn a deadly Mimic, checking one in can trigger various other anomalies, like the Tentacles or Rituals.

Camera Anomaly

Looks normal in person, but is messed up when viewed through a security camera

This has many varieties: Mimic head, a black bar with eyes, messed up character models, etc.

Photo Anomaly

A cursed photo in Animal Hospital

The printed photo does not match the patient's features.

Don't pick up pictures immediately, as some of these will also reduce your sanity.

Staring Patient

A staring patient in Animal Hospital

The patient's eyes/face will follow you around

Normal patients don't follow your movements with their head/eyes!

There may also be other varieties of each anomaly, including multiple of these signs occurring simultaneously (e.g. a "Hollow Eyes" patient can also twitch and mess with the camera). Just pay attention to anything obviously weird about patients trying to check in!
