Roblox is Still Massively Popular

Unless it gets suddenly banned in major regions, such as the US and Southeast Asia, Roblox is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Even with the introduction of Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts, the platform still maintains an incredibly healthy userbase.
Not even chat restrictions could kill games like Adopt Me and Brookhaven RP, which need a functioning chat for roleplaying and trades. Even co-op games like 99 Nights in the Forest continue to be insanely popular.

It's no secret that Roblox's game library and marketplace is a revolving door where current trends come and go, with just a few games managing to cement their place at the top.
The reason there are literally thousands of games coming out every day is that Roblox makes it easy for users to create their own experiences and cosmetics.
Roblox Studio, and now the mobile-first "Build" platform, are widely accessible tools that allow even non-programmers to create their own games.
There are tons of success stories for small devs, sometimes even actual children, making a ton of money through their creations. It's stuff like these that gets more people into the platform, and they'll continue trickling in for as long as you can achieve such success on Roblox.
Where Are the Rumors Coming From?
There is no singular source of claims that Roblox is shutting down in so and so month or year. Instead, it's often the result of satirical posts going viral or a subsection of the community making an uproar over recent updates.
This often happens with parody accounts on social media, as the platform's younger audience often gets fooled by satire.
Speculation and Misinterpretation
As mentioned earlier, unpopular updates often spark claims that the platform will die or is already dead, fueling widespread speculation as to why Roblox is shutting down.
A prominent example of this was the company's $1 billion net loss in 2025. To the casual spectator, this might seem like a sign that the Roblox Corporation is dying, but it's actually the opposite.
That huge loss was intentional, as the money was reinvested into the platform itself. They invested in new AI-powered systems and tools, and spent a lot on security updates due to recent controversy.
They also pay a total of over a billion dollars to developers through their DevEx system. Just look at how much wealth acounts like rip_indra, the creator of Blox Fruits, have. The DevEx system is part of how he became one of the richest players on Roblox.
Heck, the company even has plenty of offices near their HQ, and there are rumors that they plan on expanding even more.
Roblox Claims They Are Not Shutting Down

Even they acknowledge that rumors of their eventual closure keep popping up on a regular basis. It's a common occurrence at this point, but unless they suddenly go bankrupt out of nowhere, Roblox isn't going anywhere.
