With Roblox being as big as it is today with millions of users playing daily, it's hard to believe that just two people were behind the game's creation in 2004. But the truth is that there were initially only two men behind the game:
David Baszucki and Erik Cassel.
The now-famous duo started Roblox's development in early 2004. With its official release in 2006, the pair helped Roblox grow as more and more users joined its platform, and with their commitment to its development got the game to get where it is today.
About the Founders
David Baszucki, prior to creating Roblox, founded another company called Knowledge Revolution in 1989. The company worked on educational physics software, and had Baszucki as the president until 1998. He was also joined by future Roblox co-founder Erik Cassel in the 1990s, although both of them stepped down from their positions in 1999 to pursue their next entrepreneurial endeavor: Roblox!
Today, Baszucki acts as Roblox's CEO, with around 1,600 people currently employed at the company. Unfortunately, Erik Cassel passed away in 2013, working hard as an adminstrator and VP of engineering until his death.
