There are various ways to get Mythic and Secret units in Anime Expeditions that don't include pulling from banners, and The Drink is one notable free unit you can try to obtain.
He's inspired by Trunks from the Dragon Ball franchise, and he's considered to be one of the best meta units in Anime Expeditions for Physical teams due to his passive buffs and decent damage output.
This guide will help you get him for free, with an important tip to keep in mind before you try. But first, you must find his NPC version.
How to Find The Drink NPC
To start the hunt for The Drink, you first have to start an Expedition in East Town at Difficulty 3, which is the hardest setting possible. Make sure to set the correct difficulty, as The Drink won't show up otherwise.
For a chance to meet The Drink, you must enter an Encounter node. These are marked by an exclamation point icon on the map, and you'll find a few of these per run.
Upon entering an Encounter, you have a chance to meet The Drink (Juicebox), who will be waiting beside the road if he spawns.
He is NOT guaranteed to spawn every time. If he doesn't show up, it may be faster to reset for another early Encounter.
Talking to The Drink
If you see The Drink spawn, hop off and speak with him. He'll say: I don't have much time. Take this before I go. Click the "Speak" option and then "Yes" when prompted.
He'll give you a Toy Capsule, which is a Mythic item that you will use in the next part. From here, you can continue with the rest of the Expedition or return to the lobby if you want to get on with it already.
Obtaining The Drink for Free
To try and get The Drink for free, you must use the Toy Capsule in your inventory. But before you do that, make sure to prepare a team that can get through it.
IMPORTANT: Before attempting this, we must emphasize that the Toy Capsule is a one-time use item. Each attempt can only be done once. No retries!
The Best Team for The Drink's Challenge
The Toy Capsule challenge is basically an Expedition with a set route, and every node is an Elite fight with some hard modifiers. In addition to that, the entire stage will have the following modifiers:
- Regen I: Enemies will regenerate 1% of their max HP per second.
- Sprinter: Enemies move 45% faster but have 20% less HP.
To breeze through the nodes, it's highly recommended to have a well-rounded team that has equipment and good traits. Preferably also units that can burst things hard and fast.
Here are decent suggestions you can try:
- 8th Sword
- Shadow
- Crow
- 1-2 Farm Units
- Any other Mythic or Secret AOE units (e.g. Dark Mage or Elf Mage)
Upgrading The Drink
If you succeed in the challenge, you will receive a free copy of The Drink, among other rewards.
To fully upgrade The Drink, you'll need three more copies to get him to his max ascension tier. This means going through the entire process three more times.
As for evolving him into The Drink (Juicebox), you will need the following materials:
- 1x Sprite (Rainbow)
- 20x Sprite (Red)
- 20x Sprite (Blue)
- 10,000 Gold
