The Heaven's Rod is one of the most sought-after rods by relatively mid-level players in Fisch, and it takes a bit of work to acquire. In this guide, we'll go over all the steps you need to follow in order to claim your very own Heaven's Rod.
How to Start the Heaven's Rod Quest
To unlock the Heaven's Rod, you will need to complete the Crystal Puzzle at the Glacial Grotto, which is the summit of the Northern Expedition island. This requires you to first find the crystals themselves. Let's go over each step in a reasonably smooth order (I highly recommend following it!):
Crystal #1. Blue
Before you can grab the blue crystal, you'll need to find a pickaxe at the Northern Expedition. You can buy one at the campsite within the Overgrowth Caves part of the island, and it'll set you back 5,000 C$.

If this is your first time getting the pickaxe, then backtrack to the Northern Summit camp, which is the first one on the island. There, you must enter the nearby cave (Coordinates: 20125, 211, 5449) and mine the block of ice beside the hiker standing there:

Crystal #2. Green
Next, continue up the mountain until you reach the Frigid Cavern part of the island (Coordinates: 19873, 448, 5556). There, you will find an unnamed NPC who will give you the green crystal after talking to him:

Crystal #3. Yellow
Next, you'll need an avalanche to trigger on the island to spawn the yellow crystal. These have a chance to occur every few minutes, but you can spawn them manually if you have a lot of money.
To manually start an avalanche, climb up the Northern Expedition until you find the Avalanche Totem (Coordinates: 19711, 468, 6059). At the cost of 150,000 C$, you can spawn an avalanche event:

When an avalanche triggers, the yellow crystal will spawn at the following coordinates: 19498, 335, 5553

If you're struggling to find these coordinates, you'll find it near a natural bridge as you climb out of the Overgrowth Caves camp, along the rock wall below. Here's the yellow crystal's spawn point zoomed out:

Crystal #4. Red
To get the red crystal, you'll have to go on another scavenger hunt, this time for buttons. Basically, there will be five buttons scattered around the map, and you'll need to push them first.
Where to Find Each Button
The five buttons are really easy to find if you know the coordinates, so here's a quick rundown of their locations:
Button # | Location | Tip | Coordinates | Picture |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Moosewood | It's found right behind the leaderboards | 400, 135, 265 |
|
2 | Roslit Bay | Check the side of the log that Ashe is sitting on | -1715, 149, 737 |
|
3 | Forsaken Shore | Inside one of the watch towers | -2566, 181, 1353 |
|
4 | Snowcap Island | Behind a lamppost opposite of Wilson | 2930, 281, 2594 |
|
5 | Ancient Isle | Beside the door of the lighthouse | 5506, 147, -315 |
|
NOTE: Make sure that each button is glowing green. If one's still red, push it again before you leave as you likely didn't hold the interact button long enough.
Claiming the Red Crystal
Once all the buttons have been pressed, return to the Glacial Grotto and proceed to the place with the tall crystals. There, you'll find a hiker standing on the side:

Speak with him and buy the red crystal for 250,000 C$. Congratulations, you're close to finishing this quest!
Wrapping Up the Quest
Now that you have all of the crystals, equip each one of them and insert them into their respective larger crystals in the Glacial Grotto. Once that's done, you'll be notified that "something big" has opened nearby.

All that's left to do now is to prepare to leap off the edge to the north, just past the blue and green crystals:

Jump off the edge and whip out your glider, then descend along the rock wall. Don't veer off too far, as you want to go just under the edge you jumped from. There, you'll find a cave with a giant door that opened after you completed the puzzle:

Inside, you'll find a rope leading down. Interact with the rope to climb further into the cave. Voila, you should now see the Heaven's Rod floating above a small pool of water. You can now approach it and buy the rod for a whopping 1,750,000 C$!
