The Sunken Rod is a mid-tier rod that offers impeccable performance for how early you can potentially get it. It has a base luck of 150%, and its ability to let you farm treasure maps quickly can help you progress even faster. In this guide, we'll go over how you can get it, what it's good for, and a few tips on how to farm it quickly.
How to Get the Sunken Rod
Simply put, the Sunken Rod is a random drop from any treasure chest. It has a drop chance of 1.6%, but you're guaranteed to get one on your 50th chest if you haven't gotten it yet. It's a relatively low rate, so you'll need a bit of luck to find one.
Treasure chests require a treasure map, which drops at a base chance of 1/200 with every catch, but you can increase this with the Scavenger enchantment, which boosts the drop rate by 3x.
How to Find and Open Treasure Chests
Once you have a treasure map, you'll have to travel to Forsaken Shores. There, head to the skull-shaped rock formation on the cliffs. You'll find an NPC named Jack Marrow inside, and he'll offer to reveal any of your treasure maps at the cost of 250 C$ each.
Upon revealing a treasure map, you should now see the complete coordinates that you will have to visit. Use your GPS to find the location of the treasure:
Head to the coordinates or follow the floating arrow that appears while you're holding the map, and you'll eventually find the chest. Open it and pray that you get a Sunken Rod.
Farming Treasure Maps Quickly
Aside from having the Scavenger enchantment on your rod, make sure that your rod has a particularly fast Lure and Progress Speed. These 2 stats will drastically speed up the process.
The Rapid Rod is a good choice for this if you're still in the early game. You can obtain this rod from Roslit Bay, right beside the Blacksmith. It costs 12,000 C$, and its fast 89% base Lure Speed makes it one of the best in the low level tiers:
