Fisch players who want to unlock the powerful Onirifalx rod will need a Charred Boot to complete the related questline, and it's a surprisingly difficult item to get if you don't have a plan in mind.
To help you get a Charred Boot as quickly as possible, this guide will show you the best fishing spot and ideal rod to use for it.
The "Boot" item is not to be confused with the "Boots" that you can also get from fishing in the ocean. They are different items, and only the singular "Boot" counts for the quest!
How to Get Charred Boots Quickly
Before you can get the Charred Boot, you'll first need the following things:
- Zeus Rod - We'll show you how to get it below if you don't have it yet
- Garbage Bait - Helps you catch more boots
- As low luck as possible - Weather events that boost luck will work against you here
With all of these conditions met, you are ready to start grinding for the Charred Boot.
Best Spot for a Charred Boot
There are plenty of locations you can go to for this item, but the absolute best spot is on Sunstone Island. First, head to Merlin up the cliff and face directly to the east.
Walk forward until you reach the edge of the cliff overlooking the ocean, then turn around. You should see a small opening under you.
Enter the opening and you'll find yourself in what's unofficially called the "Trash Cave". In it, there's a small pond where you can catch Common Crates. With Garbage bait equipped, you'll have a significant chance to catch a Boot here.
Equip your Zeus Rod and just start fishing until its unique thunderstorm spawns. which will change the pool's color. This has a 20% chance to happen with each catch.
Once the thunderstorm is active, continue fishing until you hopefully get a Charred Boot. It'll take a few tries to get it, as the Charred mutation has a 10% chance to apply to your catches.
How to Get the Zeus Rod
If you don't have the Zeus Rod yet, you'll need to head to Grand Reef. Jump straight into the hole to Atlantis once you make it there.
Once inside, go straight to the south and enter through the thunderous whirlpool near the Spirit of Zeus to enter the Zeus Trial zone.
WARNING: As soon as you enter, you will be on a 5-minute timer to solve the following puzzles.
The gate to the Zeus' Rod is straight up the stairs to the south, but it is locked behind a gate that requires a code. To get the complete code, you must complete two puzzles in the left and right rooms along the hallway.
IMPORTANT: The code is different for every player, and it resets whenever you log in to a new server.

Now that you have both halves of the code, run to the gate up the stairs and enter the full code on the keypad to your right. Again, this is different for every player, and the image below is just an example of what it should look like when you've put in the right code.
With the gate open, walk right into Zeus's Sanctuary and look to your left. The Zeus Rod is leaning up against a pillar and can be purchased for 500,000 C$!
