The Great Rod of Oscar is one of the best rods in Fisch for early to mid-game grinding due to its bonus EXP (1.35x) and profitable mutation. To help you rush into the game's mid-game progression, we'll show you exactly how to get this fantastic rod.
IMPORTANT: You must be at least level 250 before you can obtain the rod!
How to Get the Great Rod of Oscar
Before you can obtain the Great Rod of Oscar, you must first have the following requirements ready:
- At least Level 250
- 2,500,000 C$
- Advanced Diving Gear
- Flippers
- The "Amulet" accessory
Where to Get the Amulet
The Great Rod of Oscar is located in an underwater cave that blocks your entry if you don't have the Amulet. To get this accessory, first head to Forsaken Shores and enter the cave inside the skull rock formation.
Climb up the wooden platforms and speak with Dead Man Joe. This will start the Dead Mans Tale quest.
Next, sail to the Grand Reef. At the main island in the middle, you'll find the Amulet hidden under a broken ship near the Shipwright NPC. Pick it up and return to Dead Man Joe in the Forsaken Shores.
Hold the Amulet and talk to Dead Man Joe to complete the quest.
The Great Rod of Oscar's Location
To get to Oscar's Locker, head to Terrapin Island and then sail between south and southwest until you reach the coordinates X = 493, Y = 130, Z = 4117.
For reference, you can use the fisherman NPC at the southern end of Terrapin Island to line yourself up in the correct direction.
We have a video walkthrough at the bottom if you still need help!
Once you reach the coordinates given, look below and you should see a circle with something red and blue glowing in the water underneath you:
Make sure you have your Amulet, Advanced Diving Gear, and Flippers equipped. Then, jump straight into the water. Enter the tunnel below.
Swim straight through the tunnel and you'll eventually find yourself in Oscar's Locker, which is full of treasure and fish that you can't actually pick up. To the northwest is a small alcove that you can enter.
Inside the alcove is the Great Rod of Oscar, which you can buy for 2,500,000 C$.
