Ten Shadows is one of the best Cursed Techniques in Jujutsu: Zero. It's a Disaster Grade CT with the ability to summon multiple Shikigamis that can overwhelm your opponents, and while unlocking it is easy, there are many more aspects about it that can be confusing.
To help you out, we'll go through everything you need to know about the Ten Shadows technique, from how to get it to how it can be fully mastered.
How to Get the Ten Shadows CT
As with most of the Cursed Techniques in the game, you can obtain Ten Shadows by summoning from the special banners. Specifically, the one that costs Cursed Crystals to pull from and has Disaster Grade CTs in its pool.
It is HIGHLY recommended to wait until Ten Shadows is the current CT with boosted rates as the odds for getting it otherwise will be way too low.
Mastering Ten Shadows
In order to achieve full mastery on Ten Shadows, you will first need to gain access to Shadow Island, which cannot be accessed through simple exploration.
You may find ways to "cheese" entry into Shadow Island via a lot of dashing, but we don't recommend trying it. In fact, these methods may already be patched as we've noticed a tall invisible wall around the main land.
How to Enter Shadow Island
To enter Shadow Island, you need a Ten Shadows Ticket (formerly "??? Ticket"). These can be obtained from the following sources:
- Can drop from the Megumi Raid
- Siege Shop (Costs 7,500 Siege Tokens)
- May drop from event bosses, such as the ones on Summer Island.
Once you have a ticket with you, you can teleport straight to Shadow Island by speaking with the Shadow Island NPC. He can be found across the Jujutsu Trials NPC at the initial safe zone:
Completing Megumi's Quest Chain
Next, you must speak with Megumi and complete his series of quests. You can easily find him by checking the map, as he will be marked as a red scroll icon and is standing near a TP point.
Here are the quests you must complete:

This will reward you enough Shadow Essence to manually summon a random mini boss, which is important for the next part.
Upgrading Each Ten Shadows Shikigami
Once you've completed Megumi's quests, you can now start farming the materials needed to upgrade Ten Shadows. To do this, you have two options depending on how far you've progressed:
- Waiting for mini bosses to spawn
- Using the summoning altar
Method #1. Waiting For Mini Bosses
If you are patient or the server has been active for a while now, you will find various mini bosses scattered throughout Shadow Island, assuming they haven't been killed by others yet.
As of the latest update, here are their respawn times:
- Bunny - 3 minutes
- Shiro - 10 minutes
- Kuro - 10 minutes
- Nue - 20 minutes
- Mahoraga - 30 minutes
NOTE: Each mini boss can only drop their respective tags. For example, Kuro can only drop the Kuro Tag, and so on.
Method #2. Summoning Altar
For later upgrades that require more than just tags, you can summon the "raid" versions of Shadow Island's bosses.
On the cliff northwest of Megumi, you'll find the Shikigami Altar where you can summon a random mini boss from the set of bosses that can spawn on the island. These are tougher and are guaranteed to drop other materials, such as Sharp Talons and Wheel Fragment.
Up there, you'll find a stone arena with pedestals all around it. Approach each of these pedestals with a blue slab and interact with them to insert a Shadow Essence:
Upon inserting a Shadow Essence to all six pedestals around the arena, the raid version of a random mini boss will spawn in the middle.
If you are playing with a group or other random players, make sure to deal sufficient damage to the boss to receive rewards!
Once you have the required materials on hand, enter your Ten Shadows Mastery tree and start upgrading each node accordingly.
It should be noted that, much like the other Cursed Techniques, you will still need duplicates of Ten Shadows to fully upgrade it.
More specifically, the final node for each Shikigami requires extra Ten Shadows copies.
