Bomb jumping is a flashy but entirely optional movement tech that you can perform in Murder Mystery 2, and knowing how to do it consistently will help you pull off some sick plays that will have the lobby in awe.
Here's a quick guide on how to do it, as well as some practical reasons why you'd want to learn it.
How to Bomb Jump
Acquiring a Bomb
First, make sure that you have the Prank Bomb unlocked. If you don't already have one, open the Shop in the left part of the screen, then click on the "Emotes" tab.
Scroll down and buy the Prank Bomb, which is worth 4,800 coins. Then, equip it so you can start practicing.
Performing the Bomb Jump on PC
To practice this move, it's highly recommended to stand on top of an elevated surface, like a box or a ledge up above. Now, while holding your Prank Bomb, look straight down (Shift Lock helps).
From here, do the following: Hold W + SPACE, then at the very top of your jump height, left click to drop the bomb.
If you timed the left click perfectly, your character should automatically perform a double jump off the bomb you just dropped. If you failed, it's likely because you dropped the bomb too far from your legs or you let go of W and/or SPACE.
Don't let go of
W + SPACE! This removes the need to time your movement after dropping the bomb as your character will automatically jump forward as soon as it touches something.
Additional Tips
If you're struggling to get it done, here are a few tips that may help as you practice it:
- After tilting your camera all the way down, move it up forward just a bit so that it drops a little forward.
- If you have a high ping, point your camera forward some more to compensate for the late bomb drop.
- This works with the Firefly Jar as well, but it's harder to pull off.
Performing the Bomb Jump on Mobile
Bomb jumping on mobile is almost the same as on PC, but it requires more precise timing because of how the controls work. First, make sure that you have shift lock on to make it easier.
Shift lock on mobile MM2 can be activated by tapping the Lock icon on the upper right corner of the screen:
With shift lock on, move forward and jump. Once your character's leg is fully extended, tap to drop the bomb and immediately press the jump button again while the bomb is still under your feet.
Keep holding forward throughout the whole process. Don't stop mid-air while you're still practicing as this will likely make it harder for you!
Additional Tips
The bomb jump is a bit harder to pull off in mobile, so here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Don't zoom in all the way, as seeing your character makes this method much easier.
- Look all the way down with shift lock on while practicing. Angling the camera will make it harder.
- Try practicing with three fingers for each control (one to move, one for dropping the bomb, and another on the jump button).
