In Fisch, the Megalodon is an exotic fish that has an average weight of between 50,000 and 60,000 KG. Upon being caught, this particular fish gives a base XP of 6,000, and can be sold for 0.15C$/KG.
To catch a Megalodon, you'll need to fish for it behind the Ancient Isle during a Megalodon Hunt.
How to Catch a Megalodon
First, you'll need to equip a rod that's able to catch a Megalodon. As this fish's weight ranges between 50,000 and 150,000 KG, it's recommended you use the Steady Rod or the Reinforced Rod. If you're looking to further improve your chances of catching one, it's recommended to use a King's Rod with the Hasty enchantment (check out our enchantment guide here).
Once you've got your desired rod equipped, you'll need to head behind the Ancient Isle, an island located between Snowcap Island and Mushgrove Swamp. The island itself looks like this:
If you're having trouble finding the Ancient Isle, head to these coordinates:
X: 5833, Y: 125, Z: 401
Next, you'll need to wait for a Megalodon Hunt to start - a randomly-occurring event that is announced via a server wide message. To improve your chances of a Megalodon Hunt starting, you can use Sundial Totems to speed up the day's cycle (check out our guide here on how to obtain them).
Next, you'll need to look for this cloud in the sky behind the Ancient Isle, which indicates where the Megalodon Hunt is located:
Once you've found the cloud shown above, head beneath it and look for the red shaded region. It will be square shaped and look like this:
Next, set up your boat and cast your rod into the red shaded region. Once your rod has been cast, you'll have a 1/156 chance of catching a Megalodon (which means you may need to catch multiple fish before obtaining one).
To further improve your chances of catching a Megalodon, you can:
- Purchase luck from the Merlin NPC (this costs 5,000C$)
- Use the Shark Head or Weird Algae bait
- Fish during the Aurora Borealis event (which increases catch chance to 1/42)
