Sniping in RIVALS, much like in most competitive FPS games, is a highly rewarding playstyle that has an equally high skill ceiling. It's a hard skill to master, especially in such a fast-paced game, but tweaking your settings around can help make it easier.
Here, we'll go over some settings to help make sniping easier, a few loadout recommendations, and some extra tips you may not know about when it comes to using the sniper.
Best Settings for Sniping
A lot of this will be personal preference, but we'll go into detail for each relevant setting so you know how to tailor it to your needs.
Before we begin, these settings are specifically for adjusting your aim with the sniper. If you're looking for general performance tweaks and crosshairs, we have an in-depth guide on the best settings for RIVALS for that.
Now, below are the settings you should consider changing. Adjust these starting points based on your personal preference until you find a setup that feels the most comfortable:
Setting | Recommended Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Camera -> Sensitivity | 50% | This is your main sensitivity setting. Start at 50% so that it isn't too jittery, and change it by +/- 5 to 10% each time while finding your comfort zone. |
Camera -> While Scoped | 100% | This makes it so that your scoped sens is the same as your unscoped sens. Lower this to around 50% if you prefer slower scoped speeds. |
Camera -> Field of View -> Scoped Weapons | 50-75% | 50-75% is the sweet spot so that your scope isn't too zoomed in, which helps if enemies get too close. |
Camera -> Camera Shake | Off | Purely personal preference, but having it off removes unnecessary recoil shaking that may occasionally mess with your aim. |

Best Loadout for Sniping
There are multiple viable sniper-focused combos that you can try out, but one common loadout that you can't go wrong with is the following:
- Primary: Sniper - Of course.
- Secondary: Uzi - For close-range combat or finishing low HP enemies.
- Melee: Scythe - Dash mobility
- Utility: Molotov - Extra tick damage and zoning

If you're comfortable with movement, substituting the Molotov with either the Jump Pad or Satchels will be a better choice. Otherwise, stick with the Molotov that you can simply throw and forget.
The War Horn is a viable option as well, especially in team-based modes.

Extra Sniper Tips
Here are a few simple but highly impactful tips that you should keep in mind while using the Sniper:
- Reload before reaching 0 bullets - The Sniper reloads slightly faster if it still has ammo left in the magazine. Get used to reloading at 1 bullet remaining so you can get back in the action earlier.
- Don't sit still - Contrary to traditional "sniping", standing still and hardscoping will make you an easy target to take down. This is partly why you want less scoped weapon zoom, so you can easily readjust your aim while moving.
- Don't scope too long - Similar to the previous tip, you should learn how to "quickscope". Tap your fire button as soon as the corners of your screen flash black, which is when your weapon is officially "scoped", then let go of your scope as soon as you shoot.
