The Rod of the Depths is one of the best early to mid-game rods in Fisch, but getting it is incredibly complicated if you don't already know what to do.

To help you out, this guide will show you all the steps you need to follow in order to acquire the Rod of the Depths.

Step #1. Finding Vertigo

To start off, you'll need to gain access to The Depths. To enter, you must find a Strange Whirlpool in the ocean. These spawn on random locations in the ocean, and their appearance is announced in chat.

Keep an eye out for a whirlpool with a long line of wind extending towards the air. If you have the Fish Radar, you'll also see that it's a spot for catching Isonades.

Jump into the whirlpool to get teleported to a place called Vertigo.

Try to catch at least one Isonade before you enter Vertigo! You'll need it for the next part.

Step #2. Gaining Access to The Depths

Once inside Vertigo, jump down the large pit past the NPC named Synth. You'll find a pool of water at the very bottom, and your next task will be to complete the Bestiary for this zone.

If you have a harpoon, you can catch most of these immediately.

Here is a table breaking down all of the fish you need to catch here:

The Depths Key in Fisch

With a complete Bestiary, you can now open the large gate near the red crystals. Approach the ghostly NPC named The Keeper sitting beside the gate, and speak with it to open the path to The Depths.

Go through and jump over the floating rocks until you reach a crevice at the end.

WARNING: Some of the rocks here will start shaking when you step on them. Jump to the next one ASAP because these will fall down after a brief moment. You will die if you fall to the void below.

Past the crevice is The Depths, which features its own Bestiary, an Angler, and a Merchant NPC. More importantly, this is where you'll find The Rod of the Depths.

Step #3. Solving the Maze

Before you can buy the Rod of the Depths, you'll first need to open a secret tunnel and get past the maze it's concealing. To open the maze, you need to find the following items:

  • 1x Abyssal Enchant Relic
  • 1x Hexed Enchant Relic

To help with this, we have a much more detailed guide on how to get an Abyssal and Hexed Enchant Relic in Fisch that will show you how to get it ASAP.

In short, you have to find two Enchant Relics and appraise them during a Mutation Surge until you get both of the relics. Either that, or you can trade with other players.

At this stage of your account progression, there are no other ways to get these two relics without the Rod of the Depths.

Maze Entrance Puzzle

Once you have both of the required relics, you have to place them in their rightful spots in The Depths. Go to the area behind where the Merchant and Angler are and you'll find a sealed door on the ground.

On the rocks above it is a pedestal with a glowing blue rune and a ghostly NPC with blue eyes.

Approach the pedestal and give it your Abyssal Enchant Relic. This will remove the relic from your inventory, and you'll see it floating above the pedestal.

Next, turn around and you'll see a waterfall overlooking the sealed entrance. Swim up the waterfall to reach the ledge up top.

Once you get to the ledge, walk along the edge and you'll find a pedestal with a red glowing rune.

Just like the previous pedestal, give it your Hexed Enchant Relic. The way to the maze should now be open!

Maze Solution (VIDEO INCLUDED)

Once both relics have been placed in their respective pedestals, the entrance to the maze will now be permanently open. It's located in front of the Abyssal pedestal.

Before you dive in, it's highly recommended to have the following:

This will give you more than enough speed and oxygen to make it to the end even if you get lost. Below is a full video of the correct path through the maze:

At the end of the maze, swim up and you'll find yourself in a small cave with a giant statue. In front of the statue is the Rod of the Depths, which you can buy for 750,000 C$.

Congratulations! You now have the Rod of the Depths, which has a neat special effect where it summons a ghost of your Roblox avatar behind you.
