Your Breathing Style in Slayers 2 is just as important as other aspects of your character if you're playing as a slayer (Evil Spirits (aka demons) use Evil Arts instead). In this guide, we'll show you how to get your desired breathing style and what requirements you need to prepare.
NOTE: Breathing Styles not mentioned here (e.g. Mist, Sun, etc.) are not implemented in the game yet, though some have been teased to be in the works (e.g. Beast Breathing).
Requirements to Get a Breathing Style
It is highly recommended to farm your desired style's requirements first before approaching the trainer. This lets you start their respective training quest immediately!
Each Breathing Style has a distinct set of requirements, but there is one that they all share: You must be at least level 25 to learn any style. Aside from that, there are varying things you'll need to farm depending on your desired style.
Here are all the resource requirements for each style:
Breathing Style | Item Requirements |
|---|---|
Water | 5,000 Wen |
Serpent | 20 Spirit Horns |
Thunder | 7,000 Wen |
Flame | 6,000 Wen |
Sound | 4,000 Wen |
Stone | 4,000 Wen |
Insect | 3,500 Wen |
Wind | 5,000 Wen |
Wen can be farmed easily through repeatable quests, so just grind the highest level generic quest you can repeat. As for the other materials, we'll give you some ideal farming spots below.
Where to Farm Spirit Horns
Spirit Horns (Formerly Demon Horns) drop from various NPCs, but the best place to farm them is from Hoyuzo Subordinates, which are found behind the waterfall in the Bamboo Grove Sanctuary.
This spot is directly under the cliff from where the Mother Bear boss spawns.

Inside, you'll find plenty of Hoyuzo Subordinates to kill, and they drop these horns at a relatively high rate.

Where to Farm Beast Cores
Beast Cores are dropped by Beast Born Spirits found in Mistfall Harbor. These NPCs only spawn at night, so farm them quickly once nightfall comes.
Beast Cores aren't guaranteed to drop from every kill, but their drop rate is relatively high.

All Breathing Trainer Locations
The list below also includes links to in-depth guides on how to unlock each style, since some of these locations are not as straightforward as their map markers indicate. Click the name of your desired style to learn more!
Once you have all the necessary resources and/or money to interact with your desired style's trainer, you can now find them in the map and start their training quest.
Here is a complete list showing where each Breathing Style's trainer can be found:
Breathing Style | Trainer Location | Map Image |
|---|---|---|
In a secret room hidden under the spawn crystal's island in the Bamboo Grove Sanctuary area. |
| |
Above the cliffs just in front of the starting zone (Windy Peak). |
| |
On top of a tall cliff in the Verdant Cliffs area. |
| |
Behind a house in the Forgotten Ruins. |
| |
On the rock formation in the middle of the lake in Iceveil Valley. |
| |
At the Stone Sanctuary, right behind where the Gyorei boss spawns. |
| |
Behind one of the buildings in the Butterfly Estate area. |
| |
On a block of ice floating at the far north part of Iceveil Settlement's enclosed body of water. |

Completing the Training Quest
Each Breathing Style trainer will give you a unique training quest, but the steps are all fairly simple and conveniently marked on your screen.
Most training tasks are simple minigames done in or around the Butterfly Estate. After that, be ready to fight a mini-boss that uses the same style you wish to get.
Defeating the mini-boss and completing the quest will instantly grant you the Breathing Style that you chose to train for. It should be visible as an entirely new branch in your skill tree.
