Max out ASAP!

More Slayers 2 Guides

Leveling up is a slow and repetitive process in Slayers 2, but you have to do it if you want to be the most powerful slayer or Evil Spirit (demon) in the game. Even early on, there are level requirements for fishing, breathing styles, or crafting stuff like the Nightfall Katana.

To help you get to max level quickly or unlock certain key features that will help with the grind, this guide will show you how to go from zero to hero ASAP.

NOTE: Most of this guide will show you how to progress as a slayer. Even if you plan on playing as an Evil Spirit (demon) later, it's recommended that you follow this for quicker levels since Evil Arts don't do much until higher levels anyway.

Pick a Good Clan

Before you begin, there are a few optimizations you can do at the character creation page. You get a few free spins, and more if there are any codes currently available at the login screen.

If you don't get any of the clans below, change it later or just roll with what you have. Making new accounts to use the free spins is a waste of time.

Use your free spins to try and get a good clan. Some of the best clans for grinding are the following:

Clan

Rarity

Reason

Other Notable Boosts

Ubuyashiki

Legendary

10% bonus EXP overall

Extra 2% luck boost in case you're farming for gear

Agatsuma

Mythic

25% bonus quest EXP

20% mastery gain for weapons

Douma

Mythic

Cold Immunity that makes trips to Iceveil so much easier, which will be helpful throughout

25% Evil Art & weapon mastery buff

Himejima

Mythic

25% bonus quest EXP

Decent skills and passive abilities for PVE combat, especially bossing

Shinazugawa

Mythic

25% bonus quest EXP

25% mastery buff for weapons and good passives for boss grinding

Uzui

Supreme

25% bonus quest EXP

Powerful clan overall, for both PVE and PVP (no need to reroll later unless you want to try for other Supreme clans)

If you don't land on any of these, that's fine! They are just nice bonuses to have, but are by no means necessary to reach max level.

Levels 1-26 - Starting Areas

Levels 1-10

When you first start the game, you'll be in Windy Peak, which is the game's starting town. At the entrance, you'll find an NPC named Krue. Speak with him to start your very first quest.

Focus on the bandit-killing quest until you reach level 10. Ignore the bandit boss for now, since you will likely struggle with just the base combat equipped. The bandits are just outside the town's entrance.

For your first few levels, prioritize getting more HP and defensive stats from your Skill Tree. This will give you a bit of breathing room while getting used to the game's combat.

There are various other side quests you can do in the starting town if you follow the NPC icons on your screen. Feel free to do this for additional EXP and money, though nothing game-breaking.

Your First Weapon

Once you have around 500 Wen, go inside Windy Peak and head to Raze's Sword Shop. There, you can buy the Regular Katana, which will be a valuable tool in your early grinds.

Return here once you've saved up 1,500 Wen so you can buy the Fancy Katana too. This is an upgrade that will be useful at later levels.

Levels 10-26

At around level 10, you're ready to move on to the bears. Continue down to the east of Windy Peak. Eventually, you'll find Tom standing beside the spawn area for bears and the Mother Bear boss.

Take his quest until you are high enough to take on the Mother Bear, then start farming the bear until around level 18. At 18, start repeating the Mother Bear quest until you reach 26.

TIP: The Mother Bear will likely be your first boss enemy if you ignored the Bandit Boss. When it knocks you back, prepare to block as it will follow up with a charging attack that knocks you down.

Levels 26-40 - Kaiden's Gang

Once you reach level 26, head up the hill near the Mother Bear spawn. There, you'll find an NPC named Chaka standing under a Torii gate. Repeat his quest to kill Kaiden's subordinates, who are at the campsite nearby.

Keep repeating that until you reach level 34, which makes you eligible for Chaka's other quest, which is to kill Kaiden himself. Do this until around level 40.

Levels 40-62 - Horns & Final Selection

At level 40, you should now focus on getting a Breathing Style. Almost all of them will require a significant number of Spirit Horns. Luckily, the farming spot is our next stop for this progression guide.

Head down the waterfall at Bamboo Grove, just below where the Mother Bear spawns. There, you'll find an NPC named Wagwan standing beside the waterfall itself.

Accept his quest to "clear out his guards", which will have you fighting Hoyuzo Subordinates in the cave behind the waterfall. These are the best and easiest source for Spirit Horns.

Repeat this quest until around level 60-62. If you still don't have enough horns for your desired style, keep doing it until you do.

We highly recommend that you go for Water Breathing as it's one of the best in the game. This requires 30 Spirit Horns.

Level 60-62 - Final Selection

Once you reach level 60 or even higher than that, you can now comfortably attempt the Final Selection without needing a team to carry you.

Head to the Final Selection area near the Butterfly Estate. The NPCs outside will have a timer that shows when it'll be available again, so simply come back later if it's not accessible.

You'll have to do a series of straightforward quests inside, so complete them all until you reach the Hand Demon at the end. Defeat it to claim your rewards.

Among your rewards for completing the Final Selection is the Kasugai Crow, which is going to be one of your main sources of EXP in the late game stages.

Levels 62-100 - Shady Individual Rooyi Quest

At level 62, you can now do Shady Individual Rooyi's quest. He can be found at Mistfall Harbor, specifically in Seasons Crossing. Here's his exact location for reference:

He'll ask you to collect 5 Broken Nichirin Katanas, which are dropped by the Mizunotos in the same area. They aren't guaranteed to drop these items, but it's a fairly high rate.

Each completion grants over 1,300 EXP, making it highly competitive with how easy it is to kill the Mizunotos.

NOTE: If you care about your reputation, keep in mind that killing Mizunotos will reduce it by 9 each. If you want to be an Evil Spirit (demon) later on, this is a great way to reach negative rep.

If this is too hard for you, we recommend returning to Wagwan and repeating his Hoyuzo Subordinate quest while also doing the Hoyuzo boss quest whenever he has respawned.

Level 100-225 - Boss Farming

Once you reach around level 100, you should be strong enough to take on bosses completely solo. At this point, your most efficient EXP farm will be boss hunting.

Specifically, you'll want to target bosses that the Kasugai Crow asks you to kill. These will grant you several thousand EXP and Wen each.

Equip the Kasugai Crow and use it to reveal the list of bosses that are currently being targeted, then pick the one you want to go for first.

If you've swapped over to the Evil Spirit (demon) side by the time you reach this level, your equivalent will be the bell that Muzan gives you. Use it to enter his lair and accept whichever tasks he has available.

These quests have the added bonus of potentially giving you good loot and crafting materials, which lets you ramp up your build with more damage. This will allow you to clear the list on a quick rotation.
