The Draco Race in Blox Fruits - Everything You Need to Know

Become a dragon, even without the fruit!

More Blox Fruits Guides

The Draco Race is one of the strongest races in Blox Fruits, but it's also considered to be the most difficult to unlock. In this guide, we'll go over all the steps to get it, as well as how to upgrade it all the way to V4.

Requirements for Draco Race

Before you can unlock the Draco Race, you first need to meet the following prerequisites:

Once you have these requirements ready, you can start the Draco Race quest chain.

How to Get the Draco Race (Step-by-Step)

In a nutshell, Draco is unlocked by giving the Dragon Wizard NPC a Dragon Egg. To do this, you must go through the following steps:

Step 1. Learn "Dragon Tether"

First, head to the Dragon Wizard in the Dragon Dojo. With all the requirements met, he'll tell you that there is much to learn in the Draco temple. Click the "Dragon Tether" option and confirm your choice when prompted.

Step 2. Search for a Prehistoric Island

With Dragon Tether now learned, you have to search for a Prehistoric Island. To spawn this sea event, you must sail deep into the Third Sea until you reach Sea Danger Level 6.

If you have the materials to craft a Volcanic Magnet, go ahead and make one to speed up your search by a lot.

Step 3. Complete the Volcano Event

Once there, you must complete the Volcano Event with the relic having at least 90% or more HP left. It is highly recommended to do this with a group, as solo is going to be extra hard.

When the Volcano Event is triggered, you'll need to do two things until the timer at the top of the screen runs out:

  • Protect the relic from the Lava Golems that will continuously spawn
  • Use destructive attacks to seal cracks on the volcano and keep "Volcano Pressure" low

If you succeed, the Dragon Egg will spawn near the dinosaur bones that you can also pick up.

Step 4. Return to the Dragon Wizard

Finally, return to the Dragon Wizard. Speak with him and then select the "Draco" option, then confirm that you want to change your race in exchange for the Dragon Egg in your inventory.

Congratulations! You now have Draco V1 equipped.

Upgrading the Draco Race

Like all the other races, there are four versions of Draco that you can unlock. The following sections will show you what you need to do in order to upgrade to the next version.

IMPORTANT: Unlike the other races in the game, Draco has its own unique steps to awaken. This means no Alchemist flowers and no convoluted V4 quest chain.

How to Get Draco V2

In order to unlock Draco V2, you must meet the following requirements:

  • At least level 2,000 or above
  • $1,000,000 (Not needed to start, but get the cash ready to finish ASAP)

Once you have these prerequisites, return to the Dragon Wizard on Hydra Island. There, he'll give you a quest to collect 5 Fire Flowers.

Where to Find Fire Flowers

Fire Flowers can be acquired from any enemy once you have started the Dragon Wizard's quest. They have a relatively low chance of dropping, so it may take a while to get all 5.

Whenever an enemy drops it, the Fire Flower will spawn on the ground and must be physically grabbed to add it into your inventory. They will not disappear if you logout or die.

NOTE: Flowers have a 5 to 15-minute cooldown. Server hopping bypasses this, so you can immediately switch servers after getting one to hopefully speed up the grind.

Return to the Wizard

With 5 Fire Flowers in your inventory, return to the Dragon Wizard to awaken your race. Pay him the $1,000,000 and you'll now be upgraded to V2.

How to Get Draco V3

To progress to Draco V3, you must first complete the Horned Man's quest, otherwise he will tell you that you aren't strong enough. If you haven't done it yet, let's go over the steps you need to follow.

Completing the Horned Man's Quest

We have a more in-depth guide on how to complete the Horned Man's quest (Rainbow Haki) that you can check out.

In a nutshell, you must go to the Horned Man found in a high platform on the Floating Turtle island. There, you can speak with him and start his quest chain.

He will ask you to defeat the following bosses in this order (you must return to him after each kill):

NOTE: The Beautiful Pirate requires you to be level 1,950 to fight, unless you use glitches to gain access while under that required level.

Defeat a Terrorshark

After completing the Horned Man's quest, speak with the Dragon Wizard to receive your V3 quest. All you need to do here is to kill a Terrorshark, which has a chance to spawn between Sea Danger Levels 2 to 6. Simply sail into the deep sea and hope one shows up.

There's not much advice we can give you here aside from a few pointers for the fight:

  • Awakened Buddha can trivialize this fight as you won't suffer water damage and can easily punch or slash the shark to death.
  • In the same vein, Dragon Talon is a fantastic choice for this fight, which you will already have at 500 mastery.
  • Awakened Magma is decent too, as it's a great fruit for sea events in general.

Return to the Dragon Wizard

With the Terrorshark defeated, you can now return to the Dragon Wizard. Before he will offer to upgrade you to Draco V3, you will have to pay him $3,000,000.

Afterwards, you will now have Draco V3, as indicated by a new pair of horns on your head!

How to Get Draco V4

Finally, Draco V4 is unlocked by completing a special trial that has some difficult requirements. First, you must have the following:

  • Dragonstorm at 500 mastery
  • Dragonheart at 500 mastery
  • A Leviathan Heart to freeze Hydra Island - Check out our guide on the Leviathan to learn more. Do this after the masteries above.

Once you have frozen Hydra Island, head up to Dragon Dojo. There will be three lanterns that you can light. Interact with each of them to light them up.

Doing the Draco V4 Trial

Once you've found Prehistoric Island again, enter the secret cave inside the crack on the side of the island:

The crack on the side of Prehistoric Island in Blox Fruits

Inside, you can speak with the large stone statue to start the trial. Once it begins, you must deliver each of the relics (Green, Red, and Yellow) from the bottom to the room at the very top.

There is a time limit of 5 minutes to complete the trial!

The room where you deliver relics in Blox Fruits

Here are a few things to keep in mind for this trial:

  • Each colored relic can be found in the rooms marked by their respective colored doors.
  • You can only carry relics one at a time, but you can deliver them in any order.
  • You must stand still to passively create a shield to protect yourself from the rising lava that happens when the level rumbles every 40-60 seconds.

When all three relics have been delivered, a tunnel with white light will open in another corner of the room. Quickly make your way through it while you still have time:

This will teleport you back to the Dragon Dojo, and you can now interact with the Flames of Hearth to awaken your powers and unlock Draco V4.
