The Masterline Rod is the pinnacle of unlockable rods in Fisch, as it's undeniable proof that you've completely mastered the game's many mechanics and secrets. It's widely considered to be the best rod in the game due to its high stats, versatile (albeit random) ability, and difficult requirements.
To help you unlock it, we've compiled a scannable list of all requirements you'll need to get it.
How to Unlock the Masterline Rod
Before we go into further detail, its requirements are essentially the following:
- 100% Bestiary completion
- 100% Rod Journal completion
The progress for both can be checked by opening your Bestiary and checking the completion percentage at the bottom left after pressing the "All" tab for both the Fish and Rods tabs.
While it's self-explanatory, having a list will help you plan your own route depending on what you're missing. In the following sections below, we'll give you an exhaustive list of all the rods and bestiaries you need to complete.
All Fish Needed for the Masterline Rod
This one doesn't need a list as it basically covers every single fish from each location, which is easily tracked through your Bestiary item.
However, it's important to note that Bestiary completion does not require you to catch the following rarities of fish:
- Secret
- Apex
- Divine Secret
This means that difficult fish like the Ethereal Colossal Dragon or the Olympian Devil (which blocks the way to the Olympian Godbreaker) aren't required.
Limited fish that are only available during seasonal and admin events also aren't needed for completion!
All Rods Needed for the Masterline Rod
For rods, it gets a bit more nuanced as there are notable exceptions. Before we give you the full list, here are rods that you don't need to get:
- Brick Rod
- Crew Rod
- Dave Rod
- Shady Rod
- Moonlit Rod
- Halibut Harpoon (although we recommend getting it anyway as it benefits a mastered Masterline Rod)
- Any limited event rods
